Assisted by his second-in-command Laura Mizon, Captain Renaud Delaunay is investigating the suspicious death of André Meunier during a hunting outing. The behaviour of the deceased’s step-daughter, Adèle Lacombes, a nurse, attracts the attention of the police officers. She hated her stepfather and he wanted to sell the family farm. But even as the investigators become more and more convinced of her guilt, the young woman remains elusive.
